Day 2 - for the nature lovers - Tasman Peninsula / Port Arthur

Tessallated Pavement |
On your down towards the Tasman Peninsula, stop in at Eaglehawk Neck and check out the Tessallated Pavement. There is a short walk from the car park that isn't too difficult.

Blow hole / Tasman Arch / Devils kitchen / Waterfall Bay |
These natural formation are located at Eaglehawk Neck. The walk to each is short, and food is available near the Blow hole.

Fortescue Bay |
About 10 minutes before you reach Port Arthur is the turn off toe Fortescue Bay. The bay has a great beach for a walk, and if you are feeling more adventurous there are a number of hikes you can undertake.

Crescent Bay |
Enjoy stunning scenery and a relatively easy walk into Crescent Bay - great beach and HUGE sand dunes. Add extra time if you attempt Mount Brown - a steep climb to a great view. Also see the Remarkable Caves details above.

Day 3 - Hobart and surrounds |
Salamanca Place / Salamanca Market |
Salamanca Place is part of Hobart's historic water front precinct. On Saturday's it is turned into one of Australia's great markets that is filled with great food, Tasmanian arts and crafts and many things that will delight you.

MONA |
MONA is arguable one of the most controversial, private museum filled with thought-provoking, and often shocking, art. You can also take a ferry to/from the museum that departs from near Salamanca that is a great way to see Hobart from the river - add extra time for the experience.

Cascade Brewery is where the iconic Cascade Beer range is brewed. You can simply have a look at the historic building, or book a tour and discover either the secrets of brewing or the secrets of the historic building.

Just down the road from the Cascades Brewery, the Female Factory Historic site is the location of the facility that housed female convicts in Tasmania.

Mount Wellington (kunanyi) |
Towering over Hobart is Mount Wellington (kunanyi). If you want an awesome view of Hobart and beyond take a trip up there. In winter you will probably encounter snow, and even if it isn't winter it can be cool and potentially windy (even if Hobart is calm). The road up is narrow.

Located just outside of the Hobart CBD and backing onto Salamanca, Battery Point is full of historic buildings telling Hobart's story. There are many great eateries and we recommend walking around to take in old world charm.

Have a devil of a time at Tasmanian Devil Unzoo located in Taranna - the kids will love gettings hands on feeding the "locals".

Doo Town is quirky little hamlet near EagleHawk Neck where the locals have taken upon themselves to name their properties with something "Doo". Be warned a couple of names might not be quite child friendly...
