Sorell
Sorell offers many facilities and services including supermarkets, cafes, restaurants, shops, banks, health practitioners, chemists, a library as well as a large variety of other shops and services.
The Pioneers playground will keep the family entertained, with free BBQ facilities available at the Pioneers playground. If you are up for ride, you can follow the bike track alongside Sorell creek.
The Sorell Fruit Farm is a great place to stop on the way to The Beach Escape. Pick your own seasonal fruit, sample the local wines and fruit liqueurs, buy jams, relishes and other local delights, or enjoy a coffee or icecream at the cafe.
On Sundays from 9am visit the Sorell Market, a large country market where you can buy farm fresh produce, garden products, handmade products, second hand goods, or enjoy a turn on a jumping castle. The market is located at the Sorell Memorial Hall, Cole St. The market operates each Sunday, or Mondays on long weekends.
Carlton and Dodges Ferry
Both Carlton and Dodges Ferry offer good surfing beaches, with Carlton Beach being patrolled during summer months. Dodges Ferry offers a number of shops, services, and boat park, and boat ramp. Kids will love the fenced playground at the boat park (Tiger Head Road, Dodges Ferry) which offers free BBQs and a track to ride bikes and scooters.
If you are into night photography, Carlton and Dodges Ferry also have some great vantage spots to photograph an Aurora.
